About Dee

Dee (Durgah Devi) Palanisamy is a vibrant storyteller and passionate educator based in Melbourne. With over 12 years of experience as a Speech & Drama educator across South East Asia, she has dedicated her career to nurturing confident communicators through the power of story, drama, and creative expression.

Since moving to Australia in 2015, Dee has become an active and respected presence in the storytelling community — performing, mentoring, and contributing to the growth of the art form. She collaborates with Newport Storytellers, Generation Women Australia, serves as Secretary of the Australian Storytelling Guild, and is a Director of the Federation of Asian Storytellers (FEAST).

Drawing on her multicultural heritage and lived experiences, Dee creates storytelling experiences that rekindle imagination, strengthen connection, and celebrate culture - inviting audiences of all ages to rediscover the magic of story.
